Hidden east of Downtown Los Angeles, the Arts District is quickly becoming the hottest place to sip coffee, grab a gourmet sandwich or shop for beautiful treasures. Named after the residents and murals that make up the community, the Arts District is a welcome oasis from the bustling city of Downtown.

You might say Wurstküche and its exotic sausage and German beer selection might have ushered in the Art District's renaissance. With nothing really else on Traction Ave, it made a destination east of the Historic Core worth coming to. Instead of waiting in the (sometimes heinously long) line out front, slip in the side door and order a beer at the bar. If you're having a nightcap, why not try their sort-of-secret ice cream sandwich: Toasted Apple Pie ice cream between two oatmeal raisin cookies.
