Kwartier Latäng & Rathenauviertel

These two neighbouring areas are where locals live, eat out and live their day to day. Less bustle than the city center and less hyped than the Belgian Quarter - Kwartier Latäng & Rathenauviertel are home to the "student party mile", traditional Kölsch food, old-school Colognians, beautiful shops and the odd historical landmark. Great areas for foodies to explore or to find the perfect spot to sit back and relax.

Walking into Haus Töller on a winter evening is a sweet feeling. Traditional to the core and packed with locals, this is the place to go to stuff your face with real Kölsch food, from pork roast to bratwurst. This place is awesome, but be warned about the giant portions and it not being very vegetarian friendly. Make sure to notice the Köbes, a typical local waiter who makes sure you constantly have a cold Kölsch beer sitting in front of you. Prost!
