Corktown, the oldest surviving neighborhood in the city, is located just west of downtown Detroit. It's a tight-knit community full of Victorian era homes many of which have been beautifully restored in a variety of colors. The growing restaurant and bar scene is one of the best in the city. Between it's restaurants, shops, and historic charm, Corktown has plenty to see and do.

If you're a fan of handcrafted beer, check out Batch Brewing. They've combined outstanding food along with a great selection of their homemade brews. Seriously, even if you're not into beer, come here for the food - the pasties, bolillos and even the pretzels are noteworthy. This location is Detroit's first Nano brewery and utilize local ingredients to create their one of a kind brews. Beer hall vibe that's quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite.
