Brixton
London’s most colourful, energetic, and famous neighbourhood – best known for its historical riots, popular Clash song, African and Caribbean communities, squatters, activists and the birth place of David Bowie. Today, Brixton still hold these unique elements, and is one of the last few places in London that embraces its true vibrancy, amazing character and charm. You can’t miss the smells of weaves, popcorn and fish on Market Row, whilst dodging steel drummers and preachers as you wind your way around the streets.

One of the earliest purpose built multiplex cinemas in England. This atmospheric Art Deco theatre has several auditoriums that have been lovingly restored to their original glory. Screening Art house, independent and mainstream films, worlds away from other commercial, soulless cinemas that London has to offer. The Ritzy is much more than just a cinema, with a bar, café and unique ‘Upstairs at The Ritzy’ stage and gallery space, hosting an eclectic program of free events ranging from live music, comedy and art exhibitions. The Ritzy is an important part of the local community, and although situated near to the hustle and bustle of Brixton village, this cinema come social meeting place, is calm, intimate and full of character and charm.
