Marina del Rey
One of the keys to happiness in LA, is finding your bubble. Mine is Marina del Rey. This coastal neighborhood has all you love about the Westside without all the riffraff and chaos you’ll find in Venice and Santa Monica. The undeveloped Ballona Creek Wetlands to the south and the Marina and Beach to the west, gives this little neighborhood a sense of space - which can be a rare find in this city. It’s close proximity to Venice, Mar Vista, LAX and the more recently developed Culver West and Playa Vista, means you got a lot of options just a short bike ride away. In fact owning a car here could be considered optional if that’s not your speed.

With so many good sushi places to choose from it’s hard to pick a favorite, but within the MDR confines Irori is a can’t miss. Don’t let the vanilla strip mall location turn you away, this traditional sushi joint is a local favorite. Crispy Albacore Sashimi, Hot Night Roll and Yellowtail with Jalapeño are musts. Shoes are not welcome but reservations are (Bonus!).
