Lavender & Honey
Coffee and Delicacies with a Touch of Honey and Lavender
Pasadena is the ninth-largest city in Los Angeles County- and the second oldest (incorporating in 1886). It is home to the Tournament of Roses, ArtCenter College of Design, Caltech, JPL, many museums and artists (including the author of this post!). It is nestled below the San Gabriel mountains on the northeast side of Los Angeles. It feels more like an east coast town with big houses on wide streets canopied with trees. It is about 20 minutes from downtown Los Angeles and thus provides a low-key, suburban hideaway without losing any of the flavor of city life.

Stunning art collection and gardens
If you live in Pasadena, you have probably been to Marston's- but you have definitely seen the line in front of it. The line partially obscures the old charming cottage facade. Marston's is a popular breakfast and brunch spot opened back in 1987. It is cozy and home-y. If you have a free morning, and don't mind a line, the brunch is indeed worth the wait. Pulled pork benedict and french toast should get the job done- but just to be sure, get an extra side of Grandma's oatmeal to line your ribs.
