Flatiron

Flatiron is a quintessential New York neighborhood. It varies block to block with remnants of historic trade centers like the flower and garment districts, perfectly sandwiched between Madison Square Park and the Empire State Building. With manufacturing having mostly left NYC, Flatiron is now a growing refuge for creative and tech companies that are quickly taking up shop in 100-year-old loft buildings.

You may not want to bring your mom to the Museum of Sex, but it can be a very good time with friends (Not in that way silly!). Great for reminding ourselves of social taboos and their uselessness. Makes for a fun date or a playful (mental) palette cleanser. From time to time there are novel and inspiring installations that are definitely worth the trip. The shop inside the museum is a bit naughty and very well designed. Lots of cool design finds can be had here.
