NOTA

Neighborhood of the Arts (NOTA) is no doubt the cultural epicenter of Rochester. Back in 2000 it experienced a rebirth when a trail of public art, visual exhibits and installations popped up. ARTwalk, as it was and still is known, catapulted the tired neighborhood into a vibrant, bustling section of town. Now, there is no shortage of art studios, galleries, restaurants, cafes, fitness studios, living spaces, and creative-class businesses occupying salvaged industrial factory buildings and Victorians. NOTA’s diversity of artists, small business owners, and established cultural gems make it a sanctuary for all who want and expect a little more from their community.

Three Heads Brewing specializes in really, really good beer. The atmosphere of this beer hall meets concert hall makes it ideal for date night, to hang with a group of friends or to grab a drink before dinner. The oversized window looking into the brewing and bottling facilities is a nice reminder that it doesn’t get more local than this. If you luck out and are there on a beautiful day, grab a seat on the giant patio. Keep in mind, if you get hungry, a bag of pretzels might be your only option. But they have ample parking for food trucks so check their website if you want to imbibe and dine. From special brews like Ghost Pepper Porter and Captain Banana Unfiltered Wheat Beer to staples like The Kind IPA and Rochestafarian Wee Heavy Ale, Three Heads Brewing certainly brings the west coast beer vibe to Rochester.
