Alsergrund
Vienna's 9th district excels at capturing the city's fresh and urban mood by housing a wide range of cultural activities and restaurants offering finest cuisine from all over the world. As many students call Alsergrund their home, new coffeeshops and bars pop up every month. Fortunately this welcoming place hasn't been flooded by tourists so far, so it clearly stands for the authentic and emerging Vienna while retaining its historical atmosphere.

Though a guy called "Jonas Reindl" is not existing, this café is especially authentic and charming. Maybe because the owner and his father collected the interior for years now - and some of the pieces are more than 100 years old. Their coffee - try the Aeropress brewed one - is excellent and they even offer coffee by changing guest roasters to guarantee variety. In spring and summer there are some seats outside, but just take your drink to go and find a spot in Sigmund-Freud-Park across the street.
