Candler Park Golf Course
When Asa Candler donated 55-acres of parkland to the city in 1922, his plans for the park included a nine-hole golf course that his daughter would be able to use since women were prohibited from playing at the nearby Druid Hills club. Designed by landscape architect Helen Smith, the course was completed in 1927. The hilly walking course (prepare to work your quads) has four par 4's and five par 3's. Walk up and play as you are, no collars or golf shoes required. (We saw a dreadlocked fellow golfing barefoot once — it’s THAT casual.) For $10 on weekdays or $13 on weekends, this is golf for the people, y'all!
