Kirkwood
Kirkwood is a national historic designated neighborhood on the east side of Atlanta. It’s situated entirely in DeKalb County, bordered by the neighborhoods of Lake Claire to the north, East Lake to the south, Edgewood to the west, and Oakhurst to the east. Once described as an “area of beautiful suburban villas” with streetcars providing express service to and from Atlanta three times daily, Kirkwood is considered very much a part of Atlanta today. Home to a representative mix of Atlanta’s population, every street has a mix of new residents and those with several generations in Kirkwood. Whether you’re enjoying the tree-lined streets, trying the eclectic mix of restaurants or learning about the history, you’re sure to enjoy your time in Kirkwood.

Located in a restored 1943 brick hardware store, Sun in My Belly is a quintessential European neighborhood cafe catering to southern clientele. They’re known for their brunch, but their dinners are equally impressive. The Supper Club special is a great deal, and it usually features the best of what they have that day. Each dish is freshly prepared to order, so this is not the place to go if you’re in a hurry. Come to enjoy the food, the decor, the occasional live music and the eclectic locals of Kirkwood.
