Green-Wood is a historical site and cemetery located at the northern end of Sunset Park. A magnet for bird-watchers and history buffs, this 478 acre piece of land filled with hills, valleys, greenery, ponds, fountains, and footpaths, is a revolutionary war historic site. This cemetery is home to Boss Tweed, Charles Ebbets, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and a multitude of civil war generals. Although Green-Wood is meant to house and commemorate its residents, it cannot be denied that it is a beautiful place where one can easily get lost enjoying the scenery and appreciating those that have come before us.
