While officially designated the “Kinzie Industrial Corridor,” this swath of land extending west from Fulton Market is home to far more than industry and distribution. A broad range of businesses, artisans, craftspeople and educators call the neighborhood home, drawn by ample loft space, some spectacular food spots, and a bit of glorious parkland.
Uncle Mike’s is a classic spot in the neighborhood. They’ve got everyday no frills breakfast food, and we highly recommend their Filipino breakfast. It’s quite a lot of food, and it’s not your typical brunch cuisine. It gets busy on a weekend, but opens at 5 AM for any of you eager or early birds.
