East End

The East End is where Houston was born, where her original immigrants settled, where her industry planted roots, and where babies boomed. Today it’s filled with people way cooler than you and places you’ve likely never been, and we like it that way: just the way it is, so stay the hell away.

'Panaderia' means place of the bread. Maybe makers of the bread. And here that comes in all forms. Conchas, cuernitos, empanadas (de calabaza o de camote drool), wedding cake style cakes for any occasion, and—of course—tortillas. Depending on the time of day you can catch them baking all this goodness fresh and maybe even a Mexican hot chocolate. Pro tip: walk in, grab a tray, grab some tongs, and just start loading up. If you spend more than $10, we'd be surprised.
