Hermosa Beach

Ask a sample of Angelenos to locate Hermosa Beach on a map, and you’ll soon realize that it’s one of LA’s best-kept secrets. Tucked between the Pacific Ocean and Pacific Coast Highway, “The Best Little Beach City” averages 325 days of sun a year—no wonder it’s home to professional and Olympic volleyball champions. Always partying and never pretentious, Hermosa Beach is a local escape from traffic, tourism, and faux-trendiness.

A paved path, called The Strand, runs along Hermosa's beach from Torrance Beach in the south about twenty miles north up all the way to Santa Monica. Between the gorgeous views of ocean, dolphins, Catalina & Palos Verdes, and beautiful beachside homes, there's always something to see. It's a great place to play beach volleyball, kickball, surf, bike, or just go for a walk.
