Melbourne CBD & Southbank

Despite being the Central Business District (CBD), inner Melbourne City is a thriving cultural hub day to night, weekdays and weekends. With a gridded street system it’s easy to explore the laneways that house Melbourne’s best galleries, eateries, bars & boutiques. The repurposing of spaces by Melbourne creatives drives an exciting energy that runs through this ever evolving city.

A bold rusted form, clad in a singular material, the ACCA building sits within the Southbank Arts District and was developed by Architects Wood Marsh as ‘a sculpture in which to show art’. Housing the Australian Centre of Contemporary Art, with a focus on commissioning rather than collecting, the gallery is Melbourne's leading contemporary art space. Along with Malthouse Theatre, the ACCA site is also home to contemporary dance company Chunky Move who offer a diverse program of works along with public classes if you feel like getting your dance on - no matter what your experience level.
