Despite being the Central Business District (CBD), inner Melbourne City is a thriving cultural hub day to night, weekdays and weekends. With a gridded street system it’s easy to explore the laneways that house Melbourne’s best galleries, eateries, bars & boutiques. The repurposing of spaces by Melbourne creatives drives an exciting energy that runs through this ever evolving city.

In keeping with it's name Hihou - 'secret treasure' - can be tricky to find, but well worth the hunt. Located on the corner of Spring Street, tucked around the corner down Flinders Lane is a small buzzer (pictured below) that leads to this upstairs bar. At Hihou every element is considered, from the minimal yet warm interior, to the hot towels on arrival, and most certainly to the extensive drinks list that includes an impressive range of Japanese whisky. With a wonderful selection of food to pair with your drinks Hihou is perfect for an intimate night out - but be sure to book as there is only room for a few at a time to enjoy this treasure!
