Barrio Logan

Barrio Logan has long been a colorful bastion for the working-class Mexican and Chicano community in San Diego. Today it still holds strong to these roots, while embracing and also resisting aspects of change. Despite hotly debated questions surrounding gentrification, Barrio Logan is rapidly being recognized for much more than the world-class murals painted on the undercarriage of the Coronado Bridge. Long gone are the days of Barrio Logan being perceived as a strictly Mexican and industrial neighborhood. Barrio now embraces an ethnically diverse group of residents, artists, businesses, and institutions.

This is actually a fairly large chain of markets in Southern California, but they have the goods when it comes to Mexican food. Fresh tortillas. Insane salsa and meat selection. Mexican pastries. Mexican produce. 4 avocados for 5 bucks. Love the colors in the place. Playful signage — Stop reading, go here, and buy food now.
