Buckhead
Jalisco
Let’s be real: our interest in Jalisco is more anthropological than culinary. Yeah, the cheese dip and salsa are pretty good, but the sangria is terrible and vast expanses of the menu are hot garbage. That said, Jalisco is fascinating for its longevity and the love and loyalty it receives from the (mostly) Peachtree Battle Avenue area folks who seem to form the majority of the clientele. The bottom line is this: everything you need to know about Jalisco is engraved into the brass trophy plaques loyal customers purchase and install on the restaurant’s fixtures, chairs, and walls to commemorate birthdays, graduations, engagements, and the like. Having your name on one of those little plaques is a matter of street credibility. You can tell us you’re from Buckhead, but if we can’t find your name somewhere inside Jalisco, we’re going to need to see another form of documentation.
