Fort Point

Named for a colonial-era fort of cannons that once protected the harbor, Fort Point was first developed in the 1830s. 19th century buildings, once used for the manufacture & storage of trade goods like wool, became home to a community of artists known as the Fort Point Arts Community. A popular destination in recent years, this dynamic neighborhood is bursting with activity: architecture & design studios, converted warehouse condos, trendy eateries, art galleries and more, all while maintaining a distinctly Boston historic texture.

The ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) is the gem of the Seaport. Exhibits are diverse and change frequently, and there’s lots of awesome programming including music, dance, teens and kids/family events. The ICA’s harborside location is absolutely captivating, and the museum offers many opportunities to sit quietly and enjoy the view with elegantly incorporated interior and exterior spaces. In the warmer months, the outdoor deck hosts live music and DJ’ed dance parties.
