Chocolate, Rice and Coffee Clusters

The guide to Expo 2015 for design lovers. At Expo 2015 there are different types of pavilion. There are pavilions belonging to countries, so-called “corporate” ones (partners'), the Cascina Triulza that houses NGOs, service pavilions, kiosks, etc., etc. The most important pavilions are those of the countries. There are two types of these: so-called “self-built” ones (i.e. built independently by each single nation) and those inside the so-called “Clusters”. There are nine Clusters (Rice, Cocoa and Chocolate, Coffee, Fruit and Vegetables, Cereals and Tubers, Spices, Bio-Mediterranean, Islands, Arid Zones) they are thematic, and were built by Expo to house all those countries that wanted to be present in Milan but were unable to build a pavilion themselves. All the Clusters were designed by the Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with 17 Italian and international universities (the [design workshop](http://www.polimi.it/en/university/university-projects/expo2015/designing-the-9-cluster-pavillions/cluster-international-workshop/) saw the participation of hundreds of students from all over the world). Here we are at the first of our Clusters, which is one of the visitors' favorites: stock up on patience because it's always packed. All the photos are by Beatrice Bianchetti and Anna Chiara Maggiolini.
