The city of Ithaca sits in the ancient lake bed of a once enormous Cayuga Lake, with Cornell University on the hill to the East, and Ithaca College on the hill to the South. The Clay School was born out of a need for a collaborative space after Cornell closed it's clay studio. This bright, creative space is in a renovated industrial factory high on South Hill (take a moment to check out the view). Filled with wheels, tables, and knowledgeable instructors, you can take a two hour "try it" workshop, or wheel throwing, handbuilding, and sculpture classes. Artists are welcome to rent shelf space and use the equipment.
