The Hills - East, South, West
The city of Ithaca sits in the ancient lake bed of a once enormous Cayuga Lake, with Cornell University on the hill to the East, and Ithaca College on the hill to the South. Waterfalls and gorges climb the hills that surround city center, leading to great adventure and some of our most favorite places to explore.

The Pines, as it's known locally, is an Ithaca staple for burgers. From the outside it doesn't look like much, your standard roadside diner, but inside has a charming family friendly atmosphere with long tables and arcade games - the kind of place kids of all ages love. The fries are perfect, which is important in a burger joint. They have what's known as the Pinesburger Challenge - eat 4 Pinesburgers in an hour and you get a t-shirt and your picture on the wall of fame. Or shame. One is enough since they're served on Ithaca Bakery's French bread - yikes!
