Cayuga Nature Center
Trails, rehabilitated animals to visit, a treehouse - so much to do!
Located at the end of the Blue Trail in the Roy H. Park Preserve off Irish Settlement Road in Freeville, this lovely hike takes you back to Six Mile Creek. Winding through meadows and along a gurgling brook, once inside the woods you eventually find yourself at a lean-to. From there, scramble down to the creek bed where you will find a beautiful shale wall filled by many visitors with heart-shaped stones. It is magical. Be sure to use the southern trail head noted in the coordinates. It's a small parking lot. The larger trail head starts off on a boardwalk over a marsh and will not connect to the Blue Trail.
