Koreatown

Koreatown is one of LA's most densely and diversely populated neighborhoods; historically home to mostly Korean and Latino immigrants whose cultural influence pervades the three-square mile, palm tree-lined expanse. After recovering from the LA riots in the '90s, K-town has become one of the city’s hippest areas thanks to its rich architectural heritage, exceptional eats and vibrant nightlife.

R Bar is a very discrete neighborhood spot that is easy to miss but difficult to forget located inside the black building on the northwest corner of 8th & Irolo. Established on St. Patrick’s day 2007, R Bar keeps a bit of mystery by requiring a password to get in the door (hint: see facebook). But once inside, there's always something going on: every second Tuesday of the month is Comedy Nite, karaoke nights are Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday. Divey, fun crowd, good drinks - R Bar is a reliable go-to.
