Known as an historic, beachside resort town, SaMo has been home to surf and skate culture, healthy living and some of the most progressive attitudes in CA. Today, it’s been reborn as an important tech and cultural hub dubbed “Silicon Beach” where art, entertainment, fashion, food, old and new fuse into a beachy-meets-metropolitan vibe.

This family-owned skate shop opened in 1978, when skateboarding was trying to establish itself as a legitimate sport. As the owners say “Thank god it didn’t.” They carry a wide variety of decks, trucks, wheels and accessories and “try to keep to core products from manufacturers who consider quality over mass produced crap.” Their small space is plastered from wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling with radness, and their collection of vintage boards is a great ride through authentic skating history. Drop in.
