Murray Hill & Kips Bay
Nestled somewhere between the Chrysler building and Gramercy Park, this nondescript stretch of Manhattan is often overlooked. Once ranked as America’s bro-iest neighborhood (seriously), there’s actually much to love in Murray Hill/Kips Bay. Sure, it might seem a tad ironic to recommend a ferry getaway as part of a Murray Hill guide. But the easy access by boat to Long Island City, Williamsburg and Dumbo is actually one of the greatest perks of Murray Hill. More than a quick escape from Manhattan, it's therapeutic. Nothings takes the edge from the city like being on the water with the skyline twinkling behind you in a balmy summer sunset.
