Bernal Heights & La Lengua
- by
- Strohl
Perched atop a steep hill at the southern edge of the city, Bernal Heights is a last frontier for artists and progressives. Nestled between earthquake cottages and bungalows you’ll find picturesque parks, quaint shops, and most importantly, a sense of community long forgotten in San Francisco. Along with its little sister La Lengua to the west, our neighborhood is unapologetically unique.

Opened in 2013 by a local baker (and Chez Panisse pastry chef veteran) Stacie Pierce, Little Bee Bakery sells delicate pastries, made to order cakes and delicious coffee from its delightful shop. Spoil your kids with a hand scooped ice cream cone while you relax, coffee in hand, at their cozy table, watching the neighborhood scurry by.
