Morningside

Quiet streets and tucked away garden-parks define Atlanta's Morningside neighborhood, which is located just north of Virginia Highland, east of Ansley Park and west of Druid Hills/Emory. With Piedmont Park to the southwest and close access to the BeltLine entrance on 10th and Monroe, the 1930s neighborhood rests in comfortable distance to many of Atlanta's growing in-town attractions. While this sedate neighborhood may be known more for what it is near than for what it offers, Morningside has plenty of its own attractions. A rich mix of homes line the leafy streets punctuated by kid-friendly parks, while the perfect assortment of neighborhood restaurants and shops line North Highland Ave. For a different kind of entertainment, Cheshire Bridge Road delineates Morningside's western edge, providing a little something for everyone.

Sweets galore, artisan bread, excellent cheese selection and well-made prepared food keep Alon's consistently packed. Unlike its larger sister operation on the Perimeter, the Morningside Alon's does in fact have that homey, special feeling that any neighborhood market should have. On the weekends you can find neighbors enjoying a coffee and reading the paper, or coming in for a bite after their morning jog. The desserts and pastries are hard to miss, but it’s also a great place to get a take-home side dish or meal, or to gather up some staples for a picnic in Piedmont Park!
