Morningside

Quiet streets and tucked away garden-parks define Atlanta's Morningside neighborhood, which is located just north of Virginia Highland, east of Ansley Park and west of Druid Hills/Emory. With Piedmont Park to the southwest and close access to the BeltLine entrance on 10th and Monroe, the 1930s neighborhood rests in comfortable distance to many of Atlanta's growing in-town attractions. While this sedate neighborhood may be known more for what it is near than for what it offers, Morningside has plenty of its own attractions. A rich mix of homes line the leafy streets punctuated by kid-friendly parks, while the perfect assortment of neighborhood restaurants and shops line North Highland Ave. For a different kind of entertainment, Cheshire Bridge Road delineates Morningside's western edge, providing a little something for everyone.

Few restaurants combine the comfort of a neighborhood hideaway and the quality food of a top-notch restaurant. The Floataway Cafe quite literally takes you away from the random industrial street of warehouses and businesses into a cozy-chic oasis with booth seating. If the weather is nice, the patio is a charming and less formal place to dine. The changing French-Italian menu has an emphasis on seasonal produce and the wine list is well-selected and reasonably priced.
