Ferencváros
District IX is one of the city’s fastest developing areas. The part inside Ferenc körút is a busy zone with the city’s most beautiful Market Hall, cafés, restaurants, and the spectacular Museum of Applied Arts. The area between Ferenc körút and Haller utca attracts tourists with great craft beers and cultural institutions, while the area behind Haller is still mainly industrial (with great architecture, though!).

Right next to Liberty Bridge, Central Market Hall has been serving hungry Hungarians since 1897 – at the time, produce was arriving through a canal connecting the Danube and the building. Instead of canals, it is structured around three main aisles today – when viewing from the main entrance, delicacies, rare veggies and tourist traps are on the right side, while the other two aisles are full of regular food market goods (for regular prices).
