Originally home to old industrial warehouses forming a hub around Chicago's Merchandise Mart, artists and designers began flooding the area for cheap, rentable loft spaces perfect for their artistic endeavors. Club Lago is your old-school neighborhood Italian joint. The story goes that Club Lago opened its doors in 1952 to provide Northern Italian cuisine to the paper salesmen and printers who worked in the warehouse district. Now in a neighborhood of galleries and loft offices, the restaurant's third generation owners, Giancarlo and Guido, have continued the family traditions of quality cooking and friendly service. From the moment you walk in, you will be greeted by one of the brothers and treated like family.
