River North

River North's name is aptly derived from the fact that it is located just north of the Chicago River. Despite it's uncreative title, River North is home to some of Chicago's premier art galleries, design studios, and bustling night life. Originally home to old industrial warehouses forming a hub around Chicago's Merchandise Mart, artists and designers began flooding the area for cheap, rentable loft spaces perfect for their artistic endeavors. We love River North because we can find inspiration at every corner, not to mention terrific food.

Club Lago is your old-school neighborhood Italian joint. The story goes that Club Lago opened its doors in 1952 to provide Northern Italian cuisine to the paper salesmen and printers who worked in the warehouse district. Now in a neighborhood of galleries and loft offices, the restaurant's third generation owners, Giancarlo and Guido, have continued the family traditions of quality cooking and friendly service. From the moment you walk in, you will be greeted by one of the brothers and treated like family. This charming restaurant sticks with the classics: red-checkered table cloths and spaghetti and meatballs. Buon appetito.
