River North

River North's name is aptly derived from the fact that it is located just north of the Chicago River. Despite it's uncreative title, River North is home to some of Chicago's premier art galleries, design studios, and bustling night life. Originally home to old industrial warehouses forming a hub around Chicago's Merchandise Mart, artists and designers began flooding the area for cheap, rentable loft spaces perfect for their artistic endeavors. We love River North because we can find inspiration at every corner, not to mention terrific food.

In the Roaring Twenties, a green door at the front of a restaurant signified to rule breakers that there was a speakeasy inside. The Green Door Tavern’s secret bar has been closed for years - until recently. Behind a bookcase in the basement, you will find The Drifter - a club located in the only remaining speakeasy room from the twenties. Patrons will find classic cocktails and live performances that hearken back to days in Chicago when Capone ran the streets and the Everley sisters ran the sheets.
