River North

River North's name is aptly derived from the fact that it is located just north of the Chicago River. Despite it's uncreative title, River North is home to some of Chicago's premier art galleries, design studios, and bustling night life. Originally home to old industrial warehouses forming a hub around Chicago's Merchandise Mart, artists and designers began flooding the area for cheap, rentable loft spaces perfect for their artistic endeavors. We love River North because we can find inspiration at every corner, not to mention terrific food.

They say Former Mayor Daley first became fixated on transforming Chicago's industrial riverbank while walking along the River Seine in Paris. Over the years, his inspiration became a reality, creating one continuous river walkway from River North to the heart of downtown. Even locals swoon over the outdoor eating, recreational activities and architecture that add to the Riverwalks elegance; it gives Paris a run for it's money. If you're here in the summer, take a seat at the City Winery and watch the world go by. If you're here in the winter, go inside.
