Ukrainian Village
This historic district is home to both old and new — century-old cathedrals share real estate with trendy cafes. As the traditionally working-class Eastern European enclave draws in younger residents, with it comes creativity in the form of forward-thinking restaurants, innovative cocktail bars and specialty boutiques. But that's not all there is — the spirit of Ukrainian Village endures through its welcoming accessibility.

If you’re up for a little architecture geek out session, we’ve even got that covered in UKV. Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral is one of only two churches designed by Louis Sullivan, a renowned architect in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and the only church built by Sullivan that stands in the city of Chicago. Sullivan was enormously influential in the architectural history of this city, mentoring greats like Frank Lloyd Wright, and is considered by many to be the creator of the modern skyscraper as we know it.
