Brunswik
The name 'Brunswik' emerged in 1350 for the first time and is assumed to be older than the City of Kiel itself. 1869 it was suburbanized to Kiel, including the areas Blücherplatz, Düsternbrook and the adjacent district Ravensberg. Today Brunswik is – next to the city center – the most favorite shopping area and houses many cultural, academic or medical facilities as well as several ancient monuments.

The Café Phollkomplex is an unconventional and personal place. It is furnished with fondly refurbished and newly interpreted bulky waste or antiques, that also can be bought for a small price. They serve homemade deli food (vegetarian or vegan) prepared with quality and fair trade goods; as well as coffee, tea or alcoholic beverages. Apart from this they offer readings, lectures, live music, jazz-evenings and alternative art exhibitions. A magically designed child area jollies the youngest along. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday: 9am – 10pm Tuesday: closed Friday: 9am – 11.30pm
