Brunswik
The name 'Brunswik' emerged in 1350 for the first time and is assumed to be older than the City of Kiel itself. 1869 it was suburbanized to Kiel, including the areas Blücherplatz, Düsternbrook and the adjacent district Ravensberg. Today Brunswik is – next to the city center – the most favorite shopping area and houses many cultural, academic or medical facilities as well as several ancient monuments.

The 'Kiellinie' along the Kiel Canal is one of the most beautiful routes for promenading in Kiel. Those who are out on a stroll on a sunny afternoon will not miss the Fish Bar. The small booth from Julian and Daniel has become an important place to go since you simply cannot find more delicious fish buns anywhere else in Kiel. Even vegetarians get their culinary fix here since the owners emphasise with regional fresh goods and fair trade. A must-eat for every walk at the Kiel Canal. Monday to Sunday: 10am – 10pm
