West LA
If you had a Venn diagram of Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City, Westwood, and Mid-city LA, the overlapping portion right at the center would be West LA. This neighborhood has an ever-increasing list of hip and trendy offerings while continuing to maintain many of the classic establishments that have made it a destination for over half a century. Because of its central location amid so many iconic LA neighborhoods, West LA benefits from the spilling over of influences from its various neighbors without succumbing to the stigma of hype that has engulfed so many desirable areas of Los Angeles.

This no frills, family owned eatery has been argued by many to be the best breakfast/brunch on the Westside. Although the family named the restaurant after a tiny village in the north of Scotland, the fare is decidedly American comfort food. They have a great variety of specialty pancakes and egg dishes, including the Huevos O’Groats - a biscuit dough tortilla topped with black beans, sautéed onions and peppers, two eggs, shredded cheese, sour cream and salsa. Their biggest standout may be their biscuits as they are always prepared to order. This place is no secret to the masses though, so be prepared for a bit of a wait especially on weekends.
