West LA
If you had a Venn diagram of Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City, Westwood, and Mid-city LA, the overlapping portion right at the center would be West LA. This neighborhood has an ever-increasing list of hip and trendy offerings while continuing to maintain many of the classic establishments that have made it a destination for over half a century. Because of its central location amid so many iconic LA neighborhoods, West LA benefits from the spilling over of influences from its various neighbors without succumbing to the stigma of hype that has engulfed so many desirable areas of Los Angeles.

We’ll just come right out and say it, this is one of our favorite bars in LA. It feels like a Victorian parlor or a library in an old craftsman home. Picture floor to ceiling bookshelves, a fireplace, large leather sofas and chairs, and the perfect drinks to match the atmosphere. This place is manned by an expert crew of mixologists who offer an exciting mix of innovative and vintage drinks. They’re also great at whipping up a great version of anything you have your heart set on. It’s the kind of place that makes an old-fashioned feel contemporary. Check their website because they offer live music once or twice a week as well.
