Terreaux

You’re in the center of Lyon, Place des Terreaux, where tourists and locals mingle around the Bartholdi fountain. This large public square is surrounded by the City Hall and the Museum of Fine Arts. Daniel Buren has marked some of his famous stripes, but time has done its work and the restoration of the square is a touchy matter. Dive into the small surrounding streets to find out the gems of this district, one of the densest in Europe. Strolling around, you will come across the Place Sathonay, the peaceful courtyard of the Museum of Fine Arts; Great restaurants; galleries and designer boutiques to check out. You’ll realize there is no reason to go to the square other than to use the metro.

Blitz is the perfect place to find gifts for you and your friends. David Bolito (the owner) is a true pop-culture fan and is always willing to have a chat about his selection. Here, almost every object has its utility, but also a touch of kitsch to shake up the daily routine. The first floor is dedicated to temporary art exhibitions and to the bizarre room, a curiosity cabinet showcasing bargains, cinema pictures, naughty photos…
