Daniel Buren has marked some of his famous stripes, but time has done its work and the restoration of the square is a touchy matter. Dive into the small surrounding streets to find out the gems of this district, one of the densest in Europe. Strolling around, you will come across the Place Sathonay, the peaceful courtyard of the Museum of Fine Arts; Great restaurants; galleries and designer boutiques to check out. You’ll realize there is no reason to go to the square other than to use the metro.
