Carlton

Carlton is famous for its Italian eats, a history deeply rooted in the area from early days. But what makes Carlton a great spot is the combination of new and old, creating an interesting and diverse cultural precinct. Peruse the well-walked Lygon street or veer off and you might just stumble into some interesting spaces otherwise overlooked. With leafy, terrace-lined streets it's a beautiful area to take a morning stroll and admire the Victorian architecture and World Heritage listed sites, with coffee and croissant in hand no less.

This is gelato at its best. For real.Hand made each day and stored in stainless steel pozzetti, it's the Italian way (and the only way). Met by an Italian speaking crew, switching to English only when serving you'll feel as you you've just taken a mini vacay to Sicily. Always stocked with a tasty range of flavours, it's a great opportunity to step outside your comfort zone and try something new (Blood Plum is a winner).
