Downtown & Old Oakland
Known for the historic brick buildings built in the 1800’s and the Tribune Clock Tower, this area offers great eateries and local brews. People often visit to explore the Oakland foodie scene in a slower pace setting where street food is served up restaurant style and communal tables are the standard. Artisans here revel in the grittiness and ever-changing culture in this deep-rooted part of Oakland, offering something for everyone.

This cafe, oyster and wine bar prides itself on “gathering around the table for honest foods”. So since we’re being honest, it’s freaking delicious. We highly recommend “Oakland’s own Po’ Boy”, if not for the name then definitely for the tangy spread, cornmeal fried oysters and unique garnishes (an olive, a dandelion and stack of pickles). The best part is that you may be served by the cook herself. Can’t get more homey than that.
