Greenpoint

This traditionally Slavic neighborhood has a storied history, starting out as farmland before turning into the culturally diverse hotspot it is now. Home to both a waterfront of warehouses and close-knit family communities to the East, the area has seen a burst of new businesses and curious dwellers alike.

Despite having its roots a little south in Williamsburg, Jimmy’s in Greenpoint has found a good home. They specialize in soul food, sandwiches, and a small but powerful cocktail list. You seat yourself when you walk in, and depending on the time of day, you may have to wait a little while. They offer select outdoor seating in the warmer months, but the open setting controls volume level well inside. Their breakfast menu is the best part of their offerings. Indulgent favorites like Chicken & Waffles sit tandem with Veggie Hash. There is no question the menu skews slightly towards ‘filling’ – where most plates will keep you satisfied for hours. We recommend the Chicken & Waffles or the Tater Heaven.
