This traditionally Slavic neighborhood has a storied history, starting out as farmland before turning into the culturally diverse hotspot it is now. Home to both a waterfront of warehouses and close-knit family communities to the East, the area has seen a burst of new businesses and curious dwellers alike.

It’s safe to say Ovenly has garnered the most praise amongst the bakeries in Greenpoint. To start, it was named Best Bakery in New York City by 2013 Time Out New York Food & Drink Awards. Quite an honor for such a small kitchen. Located down by Transmitter Park on Greenpoint Ave., it is part of a growing corner of the neighborhood. This creative bakery excels in sweet and salty concoctions. Where making the next ‘cronut’ seems to be the goal of bakeries around the city, Ovenly knows it doesn’t have to join that rat race. It’s already won.
