Republic of Korea, Technology and Architecture
The Pavilion of the Republic of Korea is a journey into elegance and technology. The architectural structure, a white solid featuring soft sinuous lines, was inspired by the Moon Jar, a traditional pottery vessel still used to ferment jeod-gal (seafood under salt) and jang (sauces and pastes). The entrance to the pavilion opens with a refined typographical installation and continues with what is a real demonstration of technological might. The pavilion is a must if you like holograms, projections and mapping. The strong point is unquestionably the show where the preparation of Hansik, a traditional Korean food, is projected using 3D mapping onto two robot arms that turn 360º.
