Kent, Ohio is an historical town located on the Cuyahoga River twenty minutes east of Akron. It’s best known for Kent State and the events of 1970, but in recent years, the town has been expanding its restaurant scene, community events, and connection to the university, making it an exciting place to live. Known as the Tree City, the best time to be in Kent is fall for the changing leaves, and summer for all of the green—a welcome sight after the cold Ohio winter!

Ray’s opened in 1937 and has been a Kent staple ever since. It’s a great place for a lunch meeting, post-work drinks, or watching the game with friends. Both floors of this bar + restaurant are filled with history—the brick walls are lined with old photos and beer signs, reminding you just how long it’s been around, and how many people have called Ray’s “home.” Oh, and get the mac and cheese bites.
