Home to roughly 100,000 proud Chicagoans, Lakeview is a mix of energy. The neighborhood is unofficially divided into smaller enclaves: Lakeview East, West Lakeview, Southport Corridor, Boystown & Wrigleyville. It's a mix of the bustling, the peaceful and everything in between. Here you'll find tourists and residents alike vying for space at popular restaurants, cafes, biergartens, boutiques, parks & the lakefront. It's also home to many of the city's "bests" in several categories.

In Chicago, a "hot dog stand" is not a roadside mobile steamer cart, but rather the term for any number of permanent outposts serving up the preferable Viennas. Byron's on the far north side of Lakeview, at Uptown's border, is no exception. This place has no frills stamped all over it, and caters to the construction worker, cubicle dweller and hipster alike. It's a great spot to grab a Chicago dog (see sign) on the way to Wrigley or the beach. Plus, it's President Obama's pick when he's in town (or being served the same grub at the White House, apparently). Good enough for POTUS, good enough for me.
