Lakeview

Home to roughly 100,000 proud Chicagoans, Lakeview is a mix of energy. The neighborhood is unofficially divided into smaller enclaves: Lakeview East, West Lakeview, Southport Corridor, Boystown & Wrigleyville. It's a mix of the bustling, the peaceful and everything in between. Here you'll find tourists and residents alike vying for space at popular restaurants, cafes, biergartens, boutiques, parks & the lakefront. It's also home to many of the city's "bests" in several categories.

On the stretch of Broadway that is home to several other spots on this list, you'll find Reckless. It's a vinyl collector's playground. You could spend an entire afternoon rummaging through the record collection – old and new. It's tough to drop in here and not leave with something. Whether you are in the mood for punk, blues, rap or indie, it's all here. And if it's not here, they can order it for you, or at least look into it. I recommend digging through the Chicago blues stuff. Or, anything from this little Detroit rock outfit, The White Stripes.
