Home to roughly 100,000 proud Chicagoans, Lakeview is a mix of energy. The neighborhood is unofficially divided into smaller enclaves: Lakeview East, West Lakeview, Southport Corridor, Boystown & Wrigleyville. It's a mix of the bustling, the peaceful and everything in between. Here you'll find tourists and residents alike vying for space at popular restaurants, cafes, biergartens, boutiques, parks & the lakefront. It's also home to many of the city's "bests" in several categories.

A bar of some shape or form has existed within these walls since 1903. Then, it was built as an outpost for Schlitz Brewery to bring their product more easily to the masses. Today, you can still have a Schlitz, at Schubas, thank God. If you aren't here for the Schlitz pints, it's likely because you came for a gig. The back room houses a intimate but comfortable stage that books plenty of acclaimed indie acts. Schubas is one of those rare neighborhood bars that people will also make the trek to, for one reason or another. The place just oozes "Chicago."
